The Merchant, located at 36a Ledbury road in Notting Hill, is a two story, 1,500sq foot, high-end designer consignment boutique for buyers and sellers of pre-owned Women’s, Men’s and Children’s clothing, shoes, accessories & jewelry.  Opened in August 2010, The Merchant is the brainchild of Vanessa Bunsen, who has a long-standing career as a personal shopper.

The idea behind The Merchant is to move away from trend led fast fashion and revalue the beautiful clothes that have already been created and loved by someone- while at the same time allowing our consigners  to make some profit from their unwanted items. As they say one's cast off is another's treasure. The Merchant is about redistribution-we are proud to know that in a way our ethos is more caring for the environment because it doesn't put an extra strain on resources. We encourage timeless style by putting forth classic pieces and certain key trends in beautiful fabrics by world famous designers and promote the idea of recycling and reusing because it contributes to our economy in an organic way.

Along with our women's clothes on the ground floor we also have a full section dedicated to children's clothes too- all by favorite children's designers and in excellent condition.

After featuring some art exhibits for up and coming artists such as www.yuliabakhtiozina.com and due to our growing collection of beautiful clothes we have opened downstairs to feature the extended women's' collection. While we are still in the process of growing our mens collection in hopes of featuring it downstairs one day soon. The space downstairs will  continue to be made available to artists and trunk shows upon request.
